Back-To-School Book Bag Project Each year, Metro sponsors a drive for Back to School Supplies called the Back-to-School Book Bag Project. Some children in the inner city don’t have school supplies at all and lack the motivation to go back to school as a result.
This is why the Back-to-School Book bag project was initiated. It provides children with book bags filled with school supplies. In 2005, we gave out over 4,000 book bags and supplies to needy children.
How You Can HelpWonderful donors make this program possible. Each gift of $20 or more enables us to fill a new book-bag with brand new school supplies and give it to one child at the beginning of the school year.

Some donors like to participate by purchasing a book bag and filling it with school supplies themselves. If you would like to send in your own stuffed book bag, Please include the following items:
3-Ring Binder;
2 Composition notebooks;
Erasers,
Folders and lined paper;
Crayons or markers,
Pencils or pens. Please be sure to mail the package by August 15th with your return address on both the outside and inside of the box to:
